A MESSAGE FROM FRED STOEKER...
Men inside the church today are facing temptations and struggles in the sexual area like never before. While we serve a gracious and forgiving God, I know His heart for us as men is not to have us continually coming to Him with heavy hearts and tears of repentance, but rather to stand up and fight this thing on the front side, and understand that it is possible to live lives of sexual integrity even while our culture devours itself with it’s obsession.
You've heard me write and speak passionately on the subject, but I've also had a passion to write music to help support this message as well. Music is a most powerful medium of communication and can strengthen our resolve and encourage our hearts. There is nothing like getting a powerful song into your heart and singing it to yourself at times during your day, entering the school hallways or workplace with the truth of God's standards bouncing around your mind and soul.
I've co-written my first song, "Stand Up and Fight," with my friend David Bush (pictured above), a rising independent artist who has opened for Everlife and Todd Agnew and who has recently been in the "Top 40" for Inspo for several weeks with the first single, “I Will Sing,” off his new CD, Change the World.
"Stand Up and Fight" is the fifth track on this same CD. It is also getting air-time and is already having impact in the hearts of men around the country as they pick up the song from through David's website (www.davidbush.com) or through the purchase of his new CD. May the song inspire you in the battle and may you bring joy to the Lord's heart as you fight and win.
Of course, I'm going to continue writing books and am working on a follow-up to Every Young Man's Battle right now. But I'd also love to create a whole CD with songs for the fight down the line, if this song helps guys as much as I pray it will. God loves you with an everlasting love, and His eyes are ever on you. He is not a grouch, and He isn't poised on the edge of His throne just waiting to club you if you trip or stumble on your way towards Him. You must see Him for who He really is, my friend. He is your Gentle Father, aching for you to draw near to Him. As quickly as you can turn towards Him, He's running after you with all His heart. Running. That's awesome.
